What drives us
Albinism is a genetic condition. Exclusion is a choice.
One of those we cannot change. The other one we can, and that gap is the entire reason this movement exists.
Persons with albinism live with a specific stack of barriers. Visual impairment that classrooms and workplaces rarely adjust for, skin with no natural defence against a sun that is getting stronger, and a social climate still shaped by myth. Each barrier is solvable.

Why Black Albinism
Three things we refuse to accept.
That protection should be luck
Sunscreen, a hat, proper sunglasses and one dermatology appointment a year is the difference between a long life and a preventable cancer. That should not depend on who your family knows.
That visibility should mean danger
Persons with albinism are among the most visible people in any room and among the least seen. In February 2025 the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights held a state responsible for failing to protect them. The stakes are real, and so is accountability.
That charity is the ceiling
Being helped is not the same as being included. Our members save and invest through their own chama, play for their own club, sell their own products and tell their own stories.
